change default pentaho port

This tutorial will share how to change Pentaho BI Suit default port. Pentaho BI come with prepackaged Apache Tomcat, with default port 8080. we can change this port, especially when 8080 already used. If you plan to use Pentaho BI along with Openbravo ERP, usually Openbravo ERP installed on port 8080. So, change pentaho port is one thing after we install pentaho.

in this tutorial, we will change pentaho HTTP port from 8080 to 8082, and shudown port from 8005 to 8007.

to change tomcat http port inside Pentaho, stop your pentaho first. then open server.xml inside <pentaho installation path>/tomcat/conf. change port 8080 to 8082. your server.xml will look like below:

still in the same file, look for row with content below:

<Server port="8005" shutdown="SHUTDOWN">

change it into:

<Server port="8007" shutdown="SHUTDOWN">

next, another file to be mofified, open <pentaho installation path>/tomcat/webapps/pentaho/WEB-INF/web.xml, change default port 8080 to 8082. your web.xml will look like below:

restrat your pentaho, then go to localhost:8082
